Giving Back in West Texas: The Charities Basin RV® Proudly Supports

5 min read

Giving back has always been part of how we do business here in West Texas.

Basin RV® is proud to support charitable organizations that serve our neighbors across Odessa and the Permian Basin. These organizations work every day with children, families, patients, caregivers, veterans, and people facing some of life’s hardest circumstances.

Our business is built around helping people keep moving. Whether someone needs RV repair in Odessa, TX, help getting back on the road, or simply a reliable answer when something goes wrong, we understand how much practical support can matter.

That same idea extends beyond our work.

Every repair we make keeps someone’s journey going, and every donation is a chance to do the same for our community.

Why Giving Back Matters to Basin RV®

West Texas is more than a place where we operate. It is home to our customers, our families, our friends, and the people we see in everyday life.

A local business depends on its community, but supporting that community should never be treated as a transaction. Giving back is about recognizing the people and organizations doing meaningful work around us and helping them continue it.

Charitable organizations often serve people during moments when they need more than good intentions. They provide research, care, education, advocacy, emergency support, and practical resources. In many cases, they help families navigate long-term challenges that cannot be solved overnight.

That work deserves attention and support.

Basin RV® is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to causes that reach well beyond our service area. We are especially proud to recognize the following organizations and the people they serve.

Organizations Basin RV® Is Proud to Support

American Heart Association: “Ways to Give”

The American Heart Association supports people affected by heart disease and stroke. Its work includes public education, health and prevention initiatives, scientific research, and programs that help people understand how to respond to cardiovascular emergencies.

Heart health affects families in every community. Support for this organization helps advance awareness, prevention, treatment, and research.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital serves children facing cancer and other serious diseases. The organization combines patient care with medical research focused on improving treatment and outcomes for children.

When a child is seriously ill, the impact reaches the entire family. Support for pediatric care and research can help families face those challenges with more resources and hope.

American Cancer Society®

The American Cancer Society® supports people affected by cancer, including patients, survivors, caregivers, and families. Its work includes cancer research, education, prevention, advocacy, and practical support for people navigating diagnosis and treatment.

Cancer changes a family’s daily life in ways that are both medical and personal. Organizations that provide information, resources, and support help people make informed decisions during a difficult time.

Save the Children®

Save the Children® works with children and families, including those affected by poverty, conflict, natural disasters, and other emergencies. Its programs generally focus on health, education, child protection, and emergency assistance.

Children need safety, stability, and access to basic resources to grow and learn. Supporting this kind of work helps reach children who may have few other sources of assistance.

The ALS Association

The ALS Association supports people living with ALS and the families and caregivers who help them. Its work includes care services, education, advocacy, and research aimed at understanding and treating ALS.

ALS can affect movement, communication, independence, and everyday routines. Support organizations help individuals and families find information, care resources, and connection while researchers continue working toward better treatments.

The Michael J. Fox Foundation

The Michael J. Fox Foundation focuses on Parkinson’s disease research and supports people living with Parkinson’s and their families. Its work includes funding research, encouraging collaboration, and providing information and resources for the Parkinson’s community.

Parkinson’s affects people differently, and families often need support over many years. Research and practical guidance both play an important role in improving quality of life.

Alzheimer's Foundation

Alzheimer's Foundation supports people affected by Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers. Its work may include education, awareness, support services, and resources that help families understand and manage the challenges associated with memory loss and cognitive decline.

Caregiving can be demanding, especially when families are trying to balance medical needs, daily responsibilities, and changing relationships. Clear information and dependable support can make a real difference.

Wounded Warrior Project®

Wounded Warrior Project® supports veterans and service members who have been wounded, injured, or become ill during or as a result of their service. Its programs focus on areas such as mental health, physical well-being, independence, connection, and long-term support.

Veterans and their families may face challenges that continue long after military service. Community support can help ensure that those who served are not left to manage those challenges alone.

What Community Support Can Look Like

Giving does not have to take one specific form. Different organizations need different kinds of help, and every person has different resources available.

You can support a cause by:

  • Making a one-time donation.

  • Setting up a recurring contribution.

  • Volunteering your time or professional skills.

  • Sharing reliable information with friends and family.

  • Participating in a local fundraiser or awareness event.

  • Donating useful items when an organization requests them.

  • Checking on a neighbor who may need practical help.

  • Encouraging your workplace, club, or community group to support a cause together.

The most useful approach is usually the simplest one: choose a cause that matters to you, learn what the organization currently needs, and follow its stated instructions.

What works is consistent, informed support. What wastes time is sending unrequested items, relying on unverified information, or assuming every organization needs the same thing. If you want to help, start with the organization’s current donation or volunteer guidance.

How You Can Join In

Basin RV® maintains charitable donation links for the organizations listed above. To find them, visit basinrv.com and look at the bottom of the website, where the charitable donation links are located in the footer.

The footer is the best place to find the current links because it is maintained directly by Juan and can be updated as needed. We encourage you to use those links rather than relying on old posts, forwarded messages, or unverified pages.

You do not have to support every organization. One thoughtful contribution to a cause connected to your family, experience, or values is meaningful. So is sharing the information with someone who may be looking for a way to help.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

West Texas has a strong tradition of showing up when people need help. Sometimes that means bringing a meal. Sometimes it means volunteering for an afternoon, making a donation, offering a ride, or simply listening.

Businesses are part of that same network.

At Basin RV®, we are thankful for the customers and neighbors who have trusted us over the years. We know that a community is not defined only by its roads, buildings, or businesses. It is defined by how people treat one another when circumstances become difficult.

That is why charitable giving matters to us. It is one way to stay connected to the people who make this region home.

If you need to reach Basin RV®, call 432-310-5681. And when you are ready to learn more about supporting these organizations, visit basinrv.com and find our charitable donation links at the bottom of the site.

Thank you for letting Basin RV® be part of this community.
